USR0013 Cannot access the repository

Wondering if anyone can help.

One of our users, when trying to login to the desktop intellegence is getting the following error:-

Cannot access the repository. (USR0013)
[repo_proxy 13] SessionFacade::openSessionLogon with user info has
failed(CMS host ‘Our Server Name’ address was resolved properly, but cannot be reached to establsh a CMS connection. Verify that your
router/firewall allows communication on port 6400 (hr=#0x80042a01)

This is the only one of our users that has this problem?

You’ll need to restart the database your repository is located. After that’s done, then your users should be able to log in.

If this is the only user that’s being affected, then you may need to look at the users’ access in CMS.

Thanks for that, i’ll give it a try, when i get a chance to restart the server.
I’ll have a look at his access in the CMS aswell, although i don’t think anything will have changed as it, the user was able to login to desktop intellegence last week, without anyproblem.

I think restarting the repository database will cover it - not necessarily restarting the server. I ran into this at a client and just restarting that repository DB worked.

Hi, We’ve had the same problem on a clients site.

I got them to reboot the server which is home to BOXI and the Database (Oracle). Still no joy.

Have logged a case with BO.

Hello,
I’ve got the same error with a client site. How do you fix the issue please ?

Thanks for your help!

We had the same problem and diagnosed that of the 1000+ users only users behind certain firewalls got the error message. I suggest you speak to your networks team and find if the specified port is open. We got around the problem by making affected users use the web client (webi) instead of deski. might not be the best way but that is how my organisation got round the problem

We have also had this error occur and were able to work around it for a short time by reinstalling DeskI. It is now about a week later and the problem has resurfaced on the same machine. We’re opening a ticket with BO but I wanted to find out if anyone had discovered a solution to this. Sorry, clarification: discovered a long-term solution.

Bonjour,

[Moderator Edit: Please post in English on the board, so that all can “share”. Rough Google translation of the above:]
Hello, I found the solution with this problem: Go on the waiter, to decontaminate the charts networks not used. Go in the “Exchange Configuration Manager” of BO XI on the waiter. To stop the service “Central Server Management”. Double to click on the service, go line 4 “Orders”, outward journey at the end of the line and to enter: - port IP of the waiter: 6400 To validate, then to start again this service.

I had this occur on my PC. The “Computer Browser” service had crashed. (Well, I had killed off a “svchost.exe” process that had ballooned to 400Mb RAM, this must have been it.)

I restarted that service on my PC, and I could then log into deski. I am using integrated Windows AD authentication.

Hi,

We are using BOXIR2. During login to designer using VPN we are facing the following error

"Cannot access the repository. (USR0013)
[repo_proxy 13] SessionFacade::openSessionLogon with user info has
failed(Transport error:Communication failure (hr=#0x80042a01) "

I have checked the rights in CMC for the Designer application.
Even I’m not able to login to import wizard with the same credentials.

But with the same credentials we are able to login to CMC and Infoview.

I tried restarting the BO server but that doesn’t help.

Also our onsite team is able to login to designer with the same credentials.

What could be the reason?why is it possible to login to CMC and Infoview and why not to designer, deski and Import wizard?

We had a similar problem with a certain PC not accessing the Live server through Designer. some PC’s could, but certain ones that used to be able to do it before, were no longer able to, we re-installed the software, re-imaged the PC nothing changed. The solution was as follows :

1) Ping the BO Server you are trying to access, and note what is the Fully Qualified Domain Name of the BO Server (eg : DS3-LIVERSERV.COMPANY.LOCAL)
2) In your local machine where the error is occuring access the host file called “hosts”, usually found in : C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
3) Open the file, and input the IP address of your Live server, and also write down the Fully Qualified Domain Name next to it, make sure this IP address is at the top of the list of any IP addresses that are there.
4) Save file and exit.
5) In Designer, at the login screen, in the System text box put the Fully Qualified Domain Name with the port number used to access the server, so for example : DS3-LIVERSERV.COMPANY.LOCAL:6400

…use your usual username/password… and that should work

I just received the same error and performed all of the following, one of which allowed me to finally log in.

  1. Turned Off Firewall
  2. Logged into Central Configuration Manager
    a) Stopped & Restarted 'Server Intelligent Agent"
    b) Stopped & Restarted my database - “Apache Tomcat”

I am sure the post above is better to follow and is way more technical. However, my cut and dry actions above got me up and running.
