Using reports in different universes

We have several reports which run under version 2.1 of our BO 4.0.5
universe. A new version of the universe (3.0) is being developed. We
want to test the 2.1 version of the reports under 3.0. The universes
have the same names but different file names. I thought I could just go
into BO reporter and choose the Universe I wanted to run the reports
under, but this does not seem to work.

Any ideas?

Simply go into data manager and change the “base” universe of the
query… This works ONLY if are allowed to access BOTH the “old” AND the
“new” universe at the same time…
AND, there are a few restrictions on objects (renaming allowed,
deleting: objects removed from queries…)
