Using Hyperlink to Pass Date

We use a BEX queries in our WEBI reports. However, when I am in first report (parent) and am passing a date using a Hyperlink, the responce from the new (child) query is to dump with the following message:

A database error occured. The database error text is: The MDX query Select { [Measures]. …

I have tested the query and found that the date is getting passed, in appearance, as those within the selection. I have tried using other formats, testing to make sure they are coming in as I expect and nothing, just the same dump and message. Can someone help me with the proper syntax in passing the date from WEBI, into a BEX query.

Is there a Guru that can pass dates from one WEBI BEx query to another.
