I’m looking for any information/experiences that people have had using a majority of flat files in business objects instead of universes. As well as, linking between various flat files, etc…

If they get large and have lots of dimensions, your reports will open slowly. The same is true of any data providers that need linking. Also, be careful because BO doesn’t do fixed length flat files well. It really wants delimited files.

Luis Gonzales put out a paper on this list that deals with how to create universes against flat files using ODBC. You may want to try it.
