Experts - Can I use BO client 6.5.4 with BO server 6.5.1 on Vista? or will I have to upgrade the server to 6.5.4 or degrade my client to 6.5.1?
There are some users in my organization who are using BO client 6.5.4 with BO server 6.5.1 but it’s working for some and crashing (i.e. client) for others. I was wondering if there is a fix to this problem or should I not even bother fixing it because it’s fundamentally not recommended to use BO client 6.5.4 with BO server 6.5.1 on Vista.
It’s always a best practice to keep clients and servers at the same version.
In your specific scenario, there is one major issue that you are likely to run into if you haven’t already:
If you have a FC document that was created in 6.5.1, open it in 6.5.4, save it, then re-open it in 6.5.1 and save it, the file size will grow by as much as 100x.
