Users have problem with prompts

Hi All ,

I have a report which is perfect when I run it on my machine, but when one of my users try to refresh the report, 2 prompts out of 5 do not work. The “values” button on the prompt window get greyed out and deactivated.He cannot get any List of values displayed. Can someone help me to resolve this.

Also, try to import a copy of the universe and see if you are able to overwrite.
If not, then check to see if the values are displayed at the Universe level when you click on the Display button in Object Properties.

One of my users experienced the same and it turned out that the location of the LOV was on a readonly network drive …

Each BO full client can set its Universe directory. In subdirectories below this the LOV files are placed. If that directory is readly the files cannot be created! If they point to a network directory try creating a file, if an error occurs then it’s readonly.

We are also facing the same issue. Can you please elaborate you answer. what is the location of LOV in installation directory.
Do i need to share my Directory where application is installed.

Thanks for replying :slight_smile:
We are on BI 4.1 Sp08 Patch 3.
First issue:- The prompt option for some of the reports is greayed out. user is not able to modify he report.
But if we import report to rich client and refresh for 2 minutes and save it back to repository then its working fine. we cannot do the same steps for 600+ reports also, we are not sure how many reports have been affected.
Second Issue:- If user create new copy of the existing report , then while scheduling prompt option is not available, but if we do the same steps. Prompt option is available for scheduling.
We have recently migrated from BI 4.1 SP5 patch 13 to 4.1 Sp08 patch 3, after that we are facing the issue.
It would be great if you can help me to resolve the issue.

You’ve replied to a post in the Desktop Intelligence forum, which I wouldn’t imagine that you’re using, so will get little help in here. :0

If you have two issues, I’d say that you’re better off creating two separate threads in the Webi forum and have more people view them.
