User not able to delete report own by the user

Hi,

we are on BOXIR2 sp3, in our environment only administartor can delete Objects and other user can delete only objects own by them. As i see in Infoview whoever publish the report is the owner of that report. (is this correct?)
there are some crystal report published by one user now when user wants to delete them getting error ‘You do not have these rights, contact system admin’ what could be the reason?

Please check if for the object the user has the right " delete object that user owns" explicitly granted.

‘delete objects that user owns’ right is granted but not explicitly. do i have to give it explicit rights?

I did check by giving explicit rights on the object still same problem.

Please check if your user belongs to a group where this right is setup to deneid.

we mostly give rights at group level and then make the user belongs to that group. no individual rights are given with some exceptions.
when i check with security viewer tool i see the ‘delete objects owned by user’ access is granted. but still when go to delete it prevents it from doing so.
for temporary i have created 1 folder and asked user to move all the reports needs to be deleted there. and they are able to do so but i am wondering if ‘MOVE’ is like delete from that folder and add to another folder then how that is working as delete is not working.

Is “Delete Objects” Right Denied or Not Specified.
If it is denied it will override the “Delete Objects that user owns”.

‘delete Objects’ right is denied. so does this means now user cannot delete objects even owned by them. is this different from deleting objects from their own inbox as they are able to delete from their inbox.
and what about MOVE can they move to another folder? as i think move is like deleting from one folder and adding to another.

Correct move = delete for the source folder and add for the destination folder…
