User Defined Transforms - max Output field length?

When creating the output fields for the UDT, in the Python editor, you can specify any length you require.

But no matter what you specify, in the UDT Transformation in your Data Flow, the output fields will always show up as 255 characters max.

Is this a bug or an actual UDT limitation? I have consulted the technical manuals document but I cannot find anything related to this specific issue?

Any input would be much appreciated!

Forgot to mention - I am using DS 4.1 SP1.

And is the field really truncated? I assume so…

I’ve never noticed this, but then, I’ve never used a field longer than 255 characters…
