Usage of ports

Hi

I am working with a client who wants to use their own version of Business Objects (XI4.1 SP5) rather that the one we deliver (SP6 version).
We are having issues connecting to the BO Server.
We access the Business Objects reports thru web intelligence and display the reports embedded in our web application.
One thing I noticed was that they use the standard port (6400) to connect to the CMC and the universe designer. (same as our standard way).
However, our WAR file requires the BO SERVER PORT to be set (we normally use 6405). They have their request port set to Auto Assign.
Is this where the problem lies ? Does this mean that a static port is not used (I am guessing it does)?
I’ve also seen the webApplicationContainer Server properties and that has port 6405 in the http configuration section.
I’ve never looked at that server before, just the CMC server.

Probably some daft points made by me there, but I am not used to integrating our product into an existing BO system, its usually a clean one that is used for our product only, so any responses appreciated.

Our app reports, Business Objects is not available…

Our development team are in the US, so no one is around yet…
I was just posing the question about the port usage really

IMHO yes, if is selected the auto assign the nthe port is chosen automatically and is not possible to connect remotly.

it turned out that they had something ‘funky’ going on with their authentication method.
They never changed the ports, so it worked (as far as the ports go)… I didn’t expect that to work
