Upgrading BI 4.2 SP2 to SP6

Hi All,

We are looking to upgrade from SP2 to SP6. I have downloaded the necessary SP6 installation files. Was just wondering if anyone can share a summary of steps? What services need to be running and need not be running? Is the process going to ask me for cluster keys or anything?

You will need BOBJ details:


We’ve recently updated all NON-PROD systems to SP6 and noticed the setup engine requires with ./setup.sh (e.g. ./setup.sh -InstallDir ) probably because same SP6 installer can be installed as New or Update existing system.

Not sure if that would be different for Windows OS.

Hi all,

Running into the issue, installer is stuck on “Deploying web applications”. Anybody have an idea how to overcome that? Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Just wait it out. I’m installing this SP on new servers for a client and it seems like it takes about an hour or longer just for this step. I haven’t had any problems with the install not finishing though - I just go do other things for a while and ignore the install.

SP6 broke WEBI printing from the HTML viewer so we had to install patch 200.
