upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2 regenerate abap programs

Were upgrading from DS 4.1 sp2 to DS 4.2 sp8.

Documentation suggests we have to regenerate our ABAP programs. We have a bunch from a SAP rapid mart that we continue to use.

However, we have found in testing and in the SAP Supplement guide, we did not appear to have to do.

I would think there are those out there in the same situation as us, what have you experienced and what did you do.

I realize going foward for any new stuff we have to regenerate using the /SAPDS namespace but wondering if we leave old ABAP programs for now at least until after we have upgraded.

I’m surprised no one has run into this. For what its worth, were testing without regenerating, i’ll report back. Did hear from SAP and basically they don’t know, we have to try but if we have issues, regenerate.
