Updation of repository host name in Webi Server

Hi ,

Our Bo repository server is moving to a virtual environment,
so the host name is going to change for the repository.

Here I would like to know how to update the new host name in the Webi server.

As I have never worked on the server side so I am not sure how to do this change.

Can anyone suggest me on this how to proceed further?

Any help in this matter is highly appreciated

As long as you are really talking about the legacy versions of WebI 1.x/2.x, which correspond to legacy versions of BusinesObjects 4.x/5.x – then you’d use desktop Supervisor to recreate the BOMain.key file (via a “Safe Recovery”), and you’d put the BOMain.key file into the correct subfolder on your WebI server.

You’d also have to redistribute the BOMain.key file to anyone who had desktop(non-ZABO) installations.

Hi Anita,

Thanks for your valuable suggestion.

I am really sorry for replying lately.

I am being told that only host name is going to change and SID of the TNS entry will remain same, so it is not required to create a new bomain key.Only the host name of the TNS entry will be updated in the web server. From thick client I am able to connect to the repository with the new host name and old bomain key.
