Unsupported SSO Scenario

I am attempting to achieve end-to-end SSO from SAP BI Platform 4.1 SP6 and SSAS using Kerberos. Following steps in KBAs 1631734 and 1688079 have got me to the point where SSO into BI Platform works (yay), and we can browse SSAS cubes with A-OLAP when Authentication is set to “Prompt”.

But when I set Authentication to “SSO”, A-OLAP displays “Login failed. Invalid user name or password” and in the logs I find the following:

Caused by: com.businessobjects.multidimensional.services.AuthenticationException: Unsupported SSO scenario.

I’ve checked and double-checked every related setting on the servers and Active Directory. Clearly I’m missing something.

Does anybody know what “Unsupported SSO scenario” indicates?

I haven’t tried it myself, have you seen this post https://bobj-board.org/t/210318 ? Could be a KVNO version mismatch ?

It’d be worth contacting support, they may at least tell you which logs to look at.

But apparently “Unsupported SSO scenario” means: “you forgot to check the “Cache security context” checkbox in the CMC, dummy”

Onto the next error!
