Unlinked universe; however, links to reports now broken???

I unlinked a destination universe;

file > Parameters > Links > Include - refresh structure - saved and exported. Then I verified the universe CUID was the same as the original… However, when I tried to run any of our corp reports (webi) none of them work, they all are getting the wis 00001 error - objects missing, blah, blah, blah…

My goal is to unlink universes so as there is absolute transparency for the users with either their corp or personal docs. This means repointing and rerunning all docs is not an option.

So… is what I’m trying to do even possible?
