Unlink is Greyed Out in Supervisor

I logged in as MANAGER and GENERAL SUPERVISOR and used the instructions in the Supervisor manual:

Selected a user, clicked the universe which the user can access, and tried to select the Unlink command from the Resource menu.

What am I doing wrong ?

I believe you can only Unlink at the level in which you published the Universe which I am assuming would be the group level. Try going to the group level in which the Universe was “exported to” and see if the option is available.

Hmmm, I noticed that the unlink only works when you select the top level group in the hierarchy (I’m logged in as MANAGER).

Is that the way its supposed to work ? The manual doesn’t mention this.

Is the top level (root) the only level you are exporting Universes to?

No, we never export to the top level group.

Are you sure? If you ever use a general supervisor ID to export, it will automatically be to the root.

We rarely ever use the GENERAL SUPERVISOR account. The only time I know of is when we need to reset the logging back to the database for those occassions where it “forgets” and logs back to file.

As I think about it, I guess it won’t be a problem unlinking from the root group. I need to remove links to universes that were erroneously exported to multiple groups. Once I unlink, I’ll just have to export to the correct group. Another step in the process but nothing too onerous.

Thanks.
