I have UniverseA held in three folders: Folder1, Folder2 and Folder3.
Report1 is mapped to UniverseA in Folder1.
All I want to do is change the Universe long name to UniverseB, and the file name from UNVA.unv to UNVB.unv. So I renamed the file, changed the long name and exported the Universe.
Using Infoview, I therefore expected to see Report1 now being mapped to UniverseB in Folder1, but it isn’t. It’s now mapped to UniverseA in Folder2! If I overwrite UniverseA in Folder2 with UniverseB, Report1 then maps to UniverseA in Folder3! It’s as if the CUID is being ignored and it’s just looking for the original Universe name. If I do the same using WRC, it also looks for any old local copies with the original Universe name.
I got the Administrator to change the universe name in the CMC, but the result is exactly the same.
Very, very strange. Any explanation and solution gratefully received.
In Dave Rathbun’s answer, when he says ‘2. Save a copy of Univ A under a new name’, do you think he means a new long name or file name?
All I’m trying to do is change the long name of a Universe from ‘A’ to ‘B’ and have it automatically picked up by a Webi report. I don’t want ot do any remapping of Universes in the report itself, because of the bug in v3.1 SP3 where you lose all of the calculations involving merged Dimensions. It’s a massively complex report!
Instead of looking for the change in Universe long name in the folder being used, it is scanning for the old Universe name in all folders. The solution is to update the Universe name in all folders, which you should not have to do.
