I am wandering if a universe could be modified by two people at the same time and then merged.
I think a universe should NOT be modified by two different developers at the same time, but its possible that I am wrong.

With a standard universe, you are correct… there is no way for two people to work on it at the same time and “merge” their changes. You can have seperate developers if you use linked universes. But they come with their own issues.

There is one situation where 2 people would be able to work with the same universe (with copies). If the 2nd one is ONLY adding new objects, then he/she finishes, and then the 1st one would be able to open both universes and the copy and paste all new objects from the 2nd copy to the 1st copy. This situation is not involving replacing objects, which you would like to avoid. Replacing objects would create a new object id and you may have problems with existing reports if you change the name & id at the same time (object not found). In some situations not changing the object name would be OK, but it is a risk proposition.
