Universe Migration:LOV file can be migrated by Designer?

This might be sounds stupid, but let me ask this question.

Our BO server is BO XI 3.1SP2.

I want to migrate a universe in dev environment to QA environment (each environment is in different BO server).
I am going to use Designer to do this.
First I import the universe file to a folder on my PC.
Second I export it to QA server.
This should work.

However, I found some universes have LOV files.
Question:
Are the lov files migrated? If not, how can I migrate this?
Or first of all, I do not have to migrate the files?

As you might know, I am not an expert of BO, but I have to make sure of it today and unfortunately, I do not have an environment nor time to confirm it by myself.

Please advise!

Dai99, it does generate LOVs on export if that option is set on the object properties (export LOV). Otherwise it gets generated on demand.

Eric, Thank you very much for the quick response!
I really appreciate it.
I found the checkbox “Export with Universe” is on Properties tab and it is checked in many objects.
I understand LOV files associated with these checked ones will be migrated with Export.

Thank you!

Hi sirs,

But some times when you migrate by Importation Wizard, you don’t find the folder of LOV in the target server.

Any one had this issue already ??

Hi,

When you used import wizard to migrate, it uses the universe which is present in the BO repository and not the local copy for migration.
Now in your repository if the universe is exported with LOV’s then it will be migrated to another environment with LOV’s only.
These Lov files are stored with unv file in the repository , the path can be checked from CMC(Central Management Console).
