BusinessObjects Board

Unhandled Exception Code: c0000005

Dear all,

I am trying to modify a current report in order to add more columns. It is a very long story. The report is quite complicate one but with one DP. And the report applied outline with 4 breaks. The report works with simplified version(with fewer columns) but not with two other version.

Actually I got another report using the same structure, outline, dp, columns, etc… both simplified and complicated version work fine. But I really dun know why another one got different respond.

The report I got exception only when I click on the data box within the table, if I keep expand the outline or browse up and down. It work still fine. But later on I found even I move cursor over the table contain data. The exception will break out immidiately. That’s what I found most strange.

I tried near all the method stated. Only remaining re-install BO. Data extracted only around 1000 rows. Please help, I already over put effort on this damn report. Really frustrated now. Thanks a lot. :nonod:

when you start having exception error with a report (nb : please avoid put crucial stuff like error msg only in subject), there are not a lot of solution, you have to recreate report because, I don’t know any solution to repaire corrupted report.

You can make it easy saving your report as ret file. Create another new report and re-create the query, then apply the ret file to this to retrieve style, tables and other stuff

Dear Nick,

I already ready the FAQ repeatly, but I found my problem still can’t solve. As I found my case not very usual as moev cursor over the table also cause exception. What do you think? Thanks a lot for your reply.

lun (BOB member since 2005-10-03)

Okay, I don’t think you mentioned that in your original post. There are lots of things you could try…opening as another user or on another machine or perhaps with a different version…all those things are worth checking out…and try the reinstall it doesn’t take long and if it does happen to solve your problem you won’t mind the inconvenience

Dear Nick,

I try reinstall the BO already. But still can’t fix. What can I do? :wah:

Actually I tried to send the report file (.rep) to other for openning it using BO 5.1.7 but not 5.1.6. However, no exception for that. If noly open .rep file work fine, can this prove anything?

And everytime I open the problem reports which contain history data, will this cause any problem?
