Unable to see connections in Desktop Intelligence

This is my first posting (question). I am trying to create a new report using Free Hand SQL and I want to use an existing Connection. I am able to see the connection in Designer but I am not able to see it in the drop down box in Dektop INtelligence. Any reason Why? I am logged in as Administrator.

Any help will be appreciated.

Is this connection available in your local ODBC drivers?

Hi skaliyur,
Welcome to B:mrgreen:b
As said by Madhu, check that you have created a connection locally, unfortunately you can not make use of the connection unlike the Universe based report.

Hi ,

Also make sure that you have data driver installed for each DB.
It gets installed automatically with installation. if not, you can install with the help of Add remove Programs.

Thanks everyone for the reply. So if I understand this right,
Any connection that is created for building a Universe cannot be re-used when creating a report. We have to make separate connections for use with reports if we want to use the free hand sql.

Hi,
One small correction, you can make use of the connection which is present in the universe, while creating a universe based report, but for FREE HAND SQL report you have to make a new connection on your local machine.
