Unable to promote objects using Promotion Manager in CMC

Hi,

I generated a biar file from a CMS live server using upgrade manager tool.
However, after importing the biar file into another CMS live server (in different client location) using Promotion manager ,when I tried to promote 2345 objects, I get the error webpage as attached.

The Upgrade Management Tool is for migrating content on to different versions, not for moving content.

Although it can be used for moving content from one BI4 system to another, but this will require a small tweak:-

Thanks for the information.

Lets say we do have also lcmbiar file from certain rapid mart package.
While promoting the same to the same CMS server, it throws the error too.

Please advise.

Hi,

Is there a way to find a workaround to get the universe and reports from one CMS to another CMS?
They both are in different intranets

Were you able to achieve this.

I too am trying to get reports from another version to 4.0. I heard of the Promotion Management tool but at a loss on how to get to it and use it.

Any help is appreciated.

Access via the CMC. You can load an LCMBIAR created from the other system or connect to the other machine directly. Its quite straightforward to use.
