Unable to locate / start Data integrator job service

Good Day All,

We have recently installed Business Objects and Data Integrator XIR2 in Windows.

After installation, we are unable to start the job server.

It says that it has encountered some problem and wants us to start the service manually. But when I look into list of services, I only find ‘Data Integrator Web services’ in running state.

Can anyone advise me on what service DI uses.

Also has anyone come across this problem.

Can this be a problem with installation itself ? How can I check ?

Thanks in advance.

It would be supportive if you post the screenshot of error you got.

Once I happened to see this type of error. Not sure if you did got the same error.

The Service for BODI is “Data Integrator Service”

Sometimes, the Windows user might not be having privileges to start the Services on the Machine

Ganesh,

Thanks for the response.

I have created a bodi local repository in Oracle and created the objects successfully. When I open my designer, it says that job server as disconnected (with a red X over the job server symbol in the status bar).

From the task manager, I can see 2 process running - JobServer.exe and JobServerFullClient.exe.

When I open ServerManager and attempt to restart, it says that
BODI-310037:This will restart Data Integrator service on this machine’
When I select ‘OK’, it immediately comes back with the message
‘BODI-310046:There was a problem restarting Data Integrator Service. Go to Control Panel → Administrative Tools → Services and restart this service manually’

When I went to ‘Services’, there is only one called ‘Data Integrator Web server’ and that is running.

Not sure where I must look for ‘Data Integrator Service’ ?

Any clue or pointing to proper documentation will be helpful.

This is really irritating - especially with tight deadlines.

The Service name is Data Integrator Service. look this in services.msc.

If this is not there, I guess some install problem itself. Are you sure, the Login with which you installed DI is a Local Admin? This one is necessary.

Otherwise please re-install and try your luck.

Happy Christmas!!!
