Unable to import reports from users favourites folder (AD)

Hi All,

I tried to use import wizard to import the reports from our current Production server to a new Dev server.
We are going to upgrade the BO from R2 to R3.

Current Dev Environment: Business Objects R2 SP2
Authentication Type: Active Directory

I am not able to import the reports from each user’s favourites folder.
The error message is cannot find parent folder.

Does anyone has any idea any special steps need to perform before import the user’s favourites folder if we use AD as authentication?

Thank you.

You probably have to cope with this error message because some of your users are no longer within the AD but are still within the CMS database…

Actually I tried to import only one user folder, which is mine.
But i still encountered this error.

If you added your user in your new system manually or by automically through the Windows AD config screen then that user will have a different CUID to the user on your system.

You will have to delete the user on your target system and then use the Import Wizard to Import the user and favourites folder.

When I have done XIR2 to XI3.0 upgrades. I have tended to setup Wndows AD authentication and then use the Import Wizard to import the AD groups from the old server. That way, the CUIDs for users and groups match on both servers.

Hi,

I am able to import the users favourites folder now.
However, when I logon using infoview (my own AD account), I am not able to see my favourites folder.

I logon using CMC and checked the folder rights. I noticed that there is only “Administrators” which has rights over my folder. My AD account has lost the rights over this folder.

This is what I did during the import

  1. I have included all users and groups except Administrator and Guest account (I am not sure if i should import administrator as well since I already have administrator account in destination)
  2. Checked the overwrite rights
