Hey there,
We are on BOXI 3.1 SP3 FP 3.6 and using CrystalReports 2008. In some reports, we use SAP as source. There is a problem with one of these reports.
This report uses Business Explorer queries for SAP data source and Excel sheet as another data source.
While we refresh this report through the Crystal Designer 2008, the report succeeds without any errors. But when we refresh it through Infoview front end, we get the following error:
Error in File …rpt: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters.
When we checked the database configuration from CMC, For the SAP source we checked the Database Server, Database, User Name and Password. They all seem to be fine.
For the excel sheet, this is saved in a fileshare location, and it was working fine all these days. We use the same credentials for the excel sheet as the one we use for the SAP queries.
Could anyone let me know if I am missing out anything else? This report used to work fine all these days.
Also, the other thing is, there are sub reports in this report. Through the Crystal Designer 2008, when I right Click on the sub report and say “Re-import sub report” it says “…rpt could not be found. Would you like to search for it”
Any thoughts???
In order to refresh the report in Infoview, there should be proper connectivity for your data source defined in the server. Your local Crystal works because you have SAP source defined properly but it may not be there in your server. Test your SAP connectivity in the server. There could be similar utility like isql or get a test utility from SAP (it may be different for Windows, AIX, LINUX, etc)
Hey
Thanks for your reply.
I noticed something with this particular report again. It now doesnt work on the CrystalDesigner as well.
1. When I click on “Set Datasource Location”, i try to update the existing SAP source with another one from the available sources. But when I try to click on the “+” symbol of the source, I get the “SAP System Logon” Screen but there are no available SAP systems, that part of the window is just blank. I only get a blank screen. It doesnt show the available sources.
when i click on “Verify Database” through designer, the same happens.
May be this is the actual reason why it was failing through Infoview as well. Any ideas about this?
When i create new report, or test other reports, I can see all the SAP sources, update them, verify database, etc.
Hello
Atleast, my report errors are partially fixed now.
I am getting stuck at just one point now.
As i mentioned, the 2nd source for the report is an excel sheet that is placed on a fileshare server. Can anyone let me know what credentials will BO use for authentication, when it wants to use this excel sheet from the fileshare?
