BusinessObjects Board

Two server same repository

We are mainly facing problem regarding installation of Business Object 6.5 at Windows 2000 Advanced Server platform.
The two servers named as DHK-HO-BOSVR and DHK-HO-BOSVR1 using the same repository and both the server having all the BO-COMPONENTS individually (including Web Intelligence) .

Please help us regarding the following issue by providing the proper documents:

  1. How to create a new server with all BO-components and add it to the existing repository.

  2. Steps to add this server to the existing repository.

  3. One separate document for fresh setup.

  4. How to take the backup of the repository. Note that we are using ORACLE SCHEMA to hold the repository data.

Ans: Backup the database (with your favorite backup tool)

  1. IS the Oracle standard procedure enough to take the backup of the mentioned repository?

Ans: Yes (Also take Folders backup of Input and output
{\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\FileStore\Input}
{\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\FileStore\Output} )

  1. Steps to move the repository if special case need to be considered.

Ans : Create New database and restore the database with backup file(Repository).

  1. Any jree/java or other software is needed when we are considering Windows IIS/ASP scenario.

Please Help

Arif, all the documents related to BO 6.5 can be downloaded from http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/ BusinessObjects > Business Objects Enterprise 6.5

Check Installation and Configuration for Windows guide. You just need to install the server components and copy the bomain.key from existing running server.

Again use the same guide for all setup related queries.

You know the answers. If still looking for Document, check Admin and/or Deployment guide.

No.

Consider that if deploying against IIS/ASP, Performance Management will not be deployable, as it is available in JSP only.

my 2 cents
