I am about to start work on a project using BO 5.0 and Oracle. I currently have BO 4.1 installed on my workstation in a SYBASE System 11 environment. I am the BO supervisor/administator and support some production applications which have not been upgraded to BO 5.0 yet so I cannot upgrade my version of BO to v 5.0. Is it possible to install BO V 5.0 (in separate directory) without it affecting my 4.1 version? Unfortunately, I do not have a second hard drive.
It will ask u 2 preserve earlier version, and yes, it works ok

Yes you can have 4.1.x and 5.0.2 installed on the workstation without problems. I have had both on multiple workstations for over 8 months. Until my user base is converted to 5.0.2 next month I will continue to have both versions on my system(s).
The standard install process allows you to make this selection.

Yes you can intall B.O 5.0 and B.O 4.x on the same machine. While installing B.O 5.0 it will ask you an option like. “Do you want to keep/overwrite the existing 4.x installation”. Select keep an existing installation and select a different directtory for installation. Hope this information helps
