Trying to figure out how to use a file event to trigger pub

Does the event tie in with the Recurrent or will it run automatically when the even occurs.

E.g. I have a report and I ignore the Recurrence screen and then on the event screen I choose AdHoc.

Now I have an event that looks for AdHoc.txt in the events folder.

Should that report run everytime I delete and create a new AdHoc.txt file or will it run one time only or not at all.

When you schedule the report, set that it depends on the event. When it is time for that schedule to run, it will sit waiting for the event’s file to appear which triggers the event and then it will run the report. Note that if the file was already there before the report’s scheduled time, it has to be deleted and recreated before the event will trigger and the report run.
