True - Read Only Central Repository?

Does anyone know how to make a central repo entirely read only?

I know how to make the objects read only in the central repo by assigning user groups through management console i.e.

Group A Member adds all objects to central repo.

Group B member who is not member of Group A is therefore only seeing All objects from Group A member as Read only. This is fine.

However I do not want to allow Group B member to add other objects to the same central repo from designer.

I have tried all sorts of options in CMC but still having issues.

If I apply View only in CMC the User in Group B cannot connect to the Central Repo in question, only when I add Edit Objects in CMC Advanced General Security settings then it will allow to connect to the central repo.

But as Edit Objects is turned on it then allows the designer user in Group B to add objects to the central repo - which I do not want.

Any ideas or tricks anyone knows of?

If you change central to a secure central. You can add rights at the object level.

Once you make your non-secure central secure. You can’t change it back. So it would be best to create a test secure central 1st.
