Transport error: Communication failure.(FWM 00001)

I am unable to logon to CMS or INFOVIEW, the passwords i have entered are cirrect and network is perfect. I tried to restart the server intelligence agent. But i couldn’t logon into it too. I get an error like this <Transport error: Communication failure.(FWM 00001)>. I tried everything(restarted services ,restarted servers but nothing is working). Please help me if you have any ideas.

What is the database ? Is there any firewall between the client and the server… If yes then open ports inside the firewall for all BI Services… an then try to connect.

I agree with BO_Chief, it sounds like a database connectivity issue between your CMS server and the Repository database.

Double click your Server Intelligence Agent in the Central Configuration Manager to open the SIA properties and view the Configuration tab. Check to be sure that the data sources you created contain the correct credentials and that communication exists between your server and the database.

Are you able to login to SIA on server?
Either SIA or any of the client tools.
Ignore if OS is UNIX.

What do you see in the first ‘System’ box on the login screen? Can you replace a server name with an i/p address, for example?

Hi,
I have tried with the IP address too but no use, still it throws the same error.

Using that Administrator login am able to login into Infoview and CMC…

did you ever resolve your issue? If so how?

I had the same situation - turned out the “ConnectionServer” thread was stuck in “Starting” mode. I forced restart and it worked going forward.
