Translation Using Xliff file

Hi

In the Translation Manager, there is an option like using XLIFF file.
Could anyone help me in understanding how this works and what actually it does…
Is this any automated way of tranlating the original content locale to selected languages.
How this file could be used in Translation manager.

XLIFF file is a standard based on XML, see here. If you are contracting a professional translating service, they might provide you with an XLIFF file, whih you can then import using the translation manager.
