Training

Mike Leshchiner asked about additional training. I took my managers training at BASE Consulting in Oakland, CA. In addition to the standard Business Objects managers training class, they offered a case study class. It’s called 4.1 Manager- Universe Development. Quoting from the latest brochure I got from them:

“This two-day course is designed to supplement the 4.1 Designer and
Supervisor courses. This course provides student with an opportunity to experience an in-depth, structured walkthrough of BusinessObjects Universe/Repository setup in a realistic environment. PREREQUESITE: 4.1 Designer and Supervisor.”

I took this when it was a one-day class and it was great. I came back knowing exactly how to set up my own configuration because I’d done it all myself in the class.

Their phone is (510) 628-3300. Web site is http://www.baseconsulting.com.

Is anyone aware of the best place to get training on developing Business Objects Reports?

I attended a 5.0 Designer class by Business Objects of America, and it was not quite up to my expectations.

Just wondering if there are better classes out there.

Thanks,

CompuExcel
You can find them at www.compuexcel.com. That is where I took my training, and it could not have been better.

If you are looking to get the kind of training I am thinking then, no you wouldn’t have gotten it from the Designer Course.

CBT(Computer Base Training):
I would recommend CompuExcel (www.compuexcel.com)

Live:
Check with B.O. Education under Business User Curriculum. Here they offer extensive reporting.

good luck,
joe

I highly recommend DSS Solutions located in New York City. (888) 377-7658 http://www.dss-solutions.com, I have used them for over 4 1/2 years and have sent many different people for almost every type of class. A third party view of a product is sometimes the best and true view. Good luck.

Integra Solutions http://www.islink.com in Dallas, TX is also an excellent source of training–especially if Dave Rathbun (you listers will recognize his name) is the instructor!

If you are located near Austria in Europe you can get all type of trainings with Delphi Software, and, of course we do not use designer classes to teach the development of reports :-))
