HI

i did the upgrade from BO XI R1 to R2, when the upgrade end!! i try the login but can’t do it . I receive the following error: The secWinAD security plugin is not available. Please contact your system administrator for details.

I check the file secWinAD.dll is installed and is ok!!! the file is
Program…\BusinessObjects Enterprise 115\win32_x86\plugins\auth\secWinAD

In R1 i don’t have problem with AD Plugin…

Any suggestion ?

Have you enabled the WindowsAD auth ?

BTW, i also want to test WindowsAD on BOXIR2
Does WindowsAD require extra licenses ??
Where can i get this function in Windows?

i trying the enable of WindowsAD auth in the web.conf file in Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Web Content\Enterprise115\InfoView AND Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Web Content. If there is other location where I enable the WindowsAD; I don’t know

BO XI R2 Enterprice include that function!!
You need a Active Directory Domain to use that funtion
And a few setting in the IIS to authentication mode

I bealive that I go to restore the Repsitory with BO XI R1 again… My BO server has 20 hours down!!! :frowning:

Have you gone to CMC -> Authentication -> WindowsAD to check / to enable the WindowsAD ?

My friend how I found CMC!! … Sorry but. I am New in my company … The person in charge of BO was removed.,… I have expertise with BO 6.5 but, I am newbie in this Version.

Ok CMC =Central Management Console

I bealive that the setup did a fresh copy. I login to CMC with Adminstrator and blank password. I restore the BO XI R1 repository in new DB and using the tool (specfy CMS Data Source) i copy the old repository to new repository but the problem now is… this (Security plugin error: Failed to set parameters on plugin) any ideal ?.. Thanks a lot …

I can’t migration the repository!! i receive the following message in the log

ID ProgID Name Severity Error Description
132 secWinAD Error Failed to initialize authentication DLL C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\win32_x86\plugins\auth\secWinAD\secWinAD.dll. This DLL is required to migrate users and user groups with secWinAD aliases.

335 BusinessObjects NT Users Error Failed to find and load authentication plugin secWindowsNT for alias secWindowsNT:\BOESERVER\BUSINESSOBJECTS NT USERS. This alias will be disabled.

you have an old version of secWinAD.dll, that happens when Crystal is freshly installed… Copy the secWinAD.dll from a PC that doesn’t encounter the problem.
