I made a dashboard in Dashboard 4.1 SP1 in december, today I tried to open Xcelsius again but all buttons in Xcelsius are disabled, I typed an active keycode but it does not work.
I tried to uninstall xcelsius, office 2013 and install again but it does not work.
First, you have to hack the install file so that it won’t check for your Office version.
Then, while it works, there are random odd behaviors. Like, for instance, you can’t edit in the formula bar, only in the cell. Or you can’t select a fill color from the quick format bar, you have to go into the full Format Cell dialog. Or having Excel and Dashboard Designer open simultaneously will crash both. And note that these are not consistent, and may change when Microsoft pushes out a patch.
Having all of the buttons disabled sounds like a license issue. You may need to contact SAP support.
We ran into the same issue just the end of December - it’s due to a Flash Player upgrade that went in on Dec 29th. Check out this blog post to fix your issue:
Agreed… another Flash F… renzy. Had the same issue. Uninstalled Dashboards because I thought it had become corrupted. Re-installed it and had the same issue.
Uninstalled Flash and reinstalled - fixed it.
Thanks Flash… nice update. I want 3 hours of my life back. I can hardly wait for the next one.
