Supervisor: Using The Same Document Agent for Groups

Using Supervisor 4.0.5.3, I have set up a group of users to be System1 Users with Document Agent Site1.

I have also set up another group of users to be System2 Users and I would like this group to use the same Document Agent Site1.

When I try to do this, I get a Supervisor message: A user/group with that name already exists. Please choose a different name.

Is there a way around this? I can not see why BusinessObjects does not allow the same document agent be used by more than one group.

  1. Create a group called say ‘Users’ and create the Document Agent
    Site1.

  2. Include the groups System1 Users & System2 Users under the group
    Users.

Thus the users of both the groups can access the same Doc Agent.

I hope this will help you.

Site1 is already set up and used by many scheduled tasks. I do not really want to set up another new document agent because of administration implications. Removing Site1 to be able to set it up again does not look good either.

So, back to the original problem:

Using Supervisor 4.0.5.3, I have set up a group of users to be
System1 Users with Document Agent Site1.

I have also set up another group of users to be System2 Users and
I would like this group to use the same Document Agent Site1.
