Can anybody tell me how to configure BO repository on data services management console.
While configuring im getting the following error even though im giving correct credentials:
Here is the error
{“Business object repository tables not exist in this database”}
If anybody have idea please help me out on this, im struck up with this almost oneweek…
You created the repository database (using your DBMS tools), but likely haven’t run the Repository Maintenance step (in which the empty tables are created by DI in the new database).
the option that you see in settings page of Impact and Lineage for BO repository is for BO Version 6.5, you don’t have to enter the BO repositroy info for BO XI R1, R2 or R3 releases
You are right…Im seeing the above option on setting Page of Impact and lineage analysis on Data services management console…
You are asking why im entering this info right???
I already configure my DI repo details, I can view my all ETL Mapping Information and i can see lineage analysis of all my source and target tables likely i need to configure my BO repo info so that i want to view my Universe and Reports information …
My Main objective is I would like to view source->Transform->target->Universe->report on lineage analysis option if its possible
Never mind - what I said was wrong, I misunderstood your error.
If you’re running BO Enterprise XI 3 (the BI tools), then you do not need to do the Enterprise repository configuration inside of DI Admin console. That menu option is there only if you are using BO reporting 6.5. (It should be clearer, I don’t think it says that on the screen.)
To get the BO XIr2 or XI3 universe and report metadata, you need to configure the Metadata Collector that comes with DI/DS, and run it. When you configure it, you tell it where your BO Enterprise repository is, and where your DI repository is. It “crawls” the Enterprise repository, and puts the results in your DI repository. Then you can get the impact analysis.
Hi Newton,
Many Thanks for your response…
While Configuring Metadata integrator first its asking BO Enterprise repository Info, i have given right crerdentials then
secondly its asking me to enter BO enterprise SSL Configuration information since i don’t have an idea about this i simply click the NEXT Button then it’s direct me to the
thrid page there its asking Metadata repository deatils.
After Providing details I have tested the connections too…It has been suceeded…
Then on the final page i got the below info…
{
Save configuration… Succeeded
Connect to CMS… Succeeded
Register program object… Succeeded
}
when i clicked finish Metadata integrator gets automatically closed…
Then I logged on to the DI management Console…
On Impact and Lineage Analysis i can see only my DI repo details still i haven’t see my BO repo details…
Here i have some questions to ask you?
After configuring Metadata integrator do we need to manually configure again our DI and BO repo details on DI management Console…
(I have configured manually thats why i can view my DI repo details, earlier i thought it will come automatically once we configure Metadata Integrator)
Hope you are clear with my problem…or else i can send you with screenshot …
Once again i wanna thank you for spending your good time…
Now that the Metadata collector is configured… You have to actually run it to get anything to appear in DI. Until there’s metadata gathered, there’s nothing to show.
Hello,
I’ve configuured MI from the Installation wizard; configuration was successful, program object: successful; connect to CMS: successful.
when I run MetaData Integrator from CMC console throws me the attached error and I’m not sure on how to set up the Java thing.
Both CMC & MI installed on the same machine
Version of DI: 11.7; BOE:11.5
and this is the first time we are trying to use Metadata Integrator.
Any suggestion and help would be much appreciated
Thanks in Advance
Hari Error in Collecting.doc (107.0 KB)
check the DI Repository connection details, edit the metadata Integrator configuration, and click on test connection in DI Repository Screen, is test connection successful ?
from the error that you got while running the integrator from command line, its not able to connect to DI Repository DB server/machine
there’s no wrong with my connections. I can see the structure of the table and the mapping its used, but not its corresponding relationship to other tables and further to report level
have you run the calculate column mappings for the repository from the Designer ?
to see the Impact and Lineage, you will have to do the following
1 - calculate column mapping for the DI Repo, you can do this from Designer, select the Datastore tab and right click, you will see the option to do this
2 - Configure Metadata Integrator and run the Integrator
with the steps you’ve mentioned, I can see ETL Lineage of my repository. however, I’m still getting the same error that I attached.
could anyone please go through with me what steps to be taken to achieve this further down to report level
