Stored Procedures in Oracle

Can BusinessObjects run procedures in Oracle? I can’t get any procedures to show up in the list.

Thanks,

Greg:

Currently, no. The difference between Oracle stored procedures and Sybase stored procedures is that Oracle stored procedures do not generate output… at least not in the same way that Sybase does. For that reason (no output) there is no support for them in the current BusObj product.

Later versions of Oracle (maybe 7.1 and up?) can return a result set from a stored procedure. If you have an Oracle stored procedure that returns a result set, you can use the SP as a data provider. See page 40 of the BusinessObjects Oracle Database Guide for detailed instructions. note- the Oracle account running the stored procedure must have execute access to to it.

I hate to be a burden as I am rather new to Oracle but I don’t understand. I have a SP that has access granted to a specific account. That account is in the Oracle connection. When I select stored procedures and the Oracle connection, I don’t get a list of stored procedures to choose from. Help?
