In order to overcome scheduling difficulties during the July meeting, the BOUG board has decided to move the July meeting from Friday, July 16th to Thursday, July 15th from 1:00 pm 4:30 pm. This is a day and time changes.
The meeting will be at the Sense Corp headquarters – 2731 Sutton Ave, Maplewood, MO 63143.

This presenation will provide a case study of two business applications, an executive dashboard and a claims drill down tool. Each leverages SAP Business Objects products, including Xcelsius, LiveOffice, and Web Intelligence to develop an integrated business solution. Chris will provide a high level overview of the applications and a detailed walkthrough of the technical aspects of combining these technologies together to form a cohesive business application. These particular applications are of interest as they were part of Centene’s entry which recently won the Regional Business Innovation Award for 2010 at the Gateway to Innovation Conference.
Enterprising Job Scheduling Chris McCormick, Cisco & Chad Mayes, Sense Corp
This presentation, co-sponsored by Sense Corp and Cisco, will present the needs and challenges addressed by enterprise scheduling, provide an overview of Cisco Tidal Enterprise Scheduler software and illustrate an implementation case study at Arch Coal.
Specific areas of focus include an overview of the native scheduling capabilities within Business Objects Data Services, reasons to consider a third party scheduler (such as Tidal Enterprise Scheduler), the design/management of the batch job schedule including load time/resource constraints, the scheduling features leveraged , and the importance of restartability. As part of the overview, attendees will understand how Ciscos Tidal Enterprise Scheduler helps businesses gain greater value from their BI investment by enabling faster and correct execution of ETL, because it offers broad coverage, and important features like the ability to handle dependencies, that can dramatically raise the reliability of BI and improve how BI systems teams use their time and resources. Sense Corp will outline the lessons learned and challenges faced during the design and implementation of the scheduler.
