SSM Transports

Dear SSM experts,

In our project, we have finalised the design and now, we want to transport the DEV SSM implementation to a different TEST environment. We are working with SSM 7.5 SP06 linked to BW.

Please, could you confirm which are the files that we need to copy-and-paste from DEV environment to TEST environment to transport the whole solution developed in DEV?

Thanks in advance for your collaboration.

Hallo everybody,

i am new to SSM and have some questions pertaining the installation and hosting of different SSM solutions on the sme server.

Like having one system that hosts multiple SSM solution of different customers/clients…is this possible and if yes does anybody have any tips/tutorials, etc.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Only just seen these posts so probably an old problem now but …

To Transport from one system to the next you need to move the following files:

  1. Any customisations that you have made in Interactive Publisher need to be copied over to the equivalent location.
  2. The Application components stored in NetWeaver CE using the Transporter. Think carefully whether you want to take over any Initiatives and Comments that may have been there in Dev but not wanted in Qual/Prod and set the flags in the Transporter accordingly. The Transporter delivers a zip file that you then import into your Qual/Prod instance.
  3. Any scheduler settings you have set up which are relevant
  4. Your PAS model. May be just a case of copying it over or you may need to dump from the Dev instance and load into PAS on your Qual/Prod instance
  5. Depending on your set up you may need to export the users and groups from UME into XML

As far as running multiple systems on a single machine one way you can do this is by having separate system databases which allow you to hold completely different structures and even customise the UI strings differently.

Hope this helps
