SQL Anywhere for CMS and audit databases...

Hi all !

we are planning our BI4.2 deployment.

In XI3.1, our CMS and audit databases were powered by MySQL. Nothing to complain about ! It was convenient to have a local dbms as our deployment is not that big ( about 300 users ).

In 4.2, BI is now shipped with SQL Anywhere. My idea was to keep using bundled rdbms to manage CMS and audit databases, until I find note in the BIP administrator guide :

“The default SQL Anywhere database is not recommended for production systems. The default SQL Anywhere database, which is bundled with the BI platform server packages, enables you to deploy and test the BI platform instantly but has limited capabilities required to manage a database.”

Oooops… Not so encouraging…

I would like to know if any of you is running SQLAnywhere to manage both CMS and audit databases for a production system. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated !

Plenty of customers run on SQL Anywhere – not sure what the premise of this advice is!
