Source with Excel

Hi,

I would like to import one Excel sheet to my universe.
I use SAP and BO XI3.

Could you help me, please?

Create a ODBC Connection to the excel and then use Generic ODBC Connection in Business objects to connect to the Excel data source.

Once this is done then you can import the excel data into universe

I created the ODBC connect:

name: test excel
type: secured
network: ODBC
database: excel spreadsheet.

and when I tested: the server is responding.

But when I went to INSERT, have a lot of tables… (?).

I think that is because I chose the wrong “Data source name”. But didnt have nothing like excel in this list.

Which data source I need to choose? How I create new data source?

Use “Web Intelligence Rich Client” , it will automatically creates universe for you by pointing excel file as source.
