[Solved] Business Query 6.5.1 - USR0053

New PC (Windows XP/SP2)
User has admin rights
Business Objects Full Client v6.5.1 works fine on the pc

Excel addin does not:
. added the add-in for Business Query 6.5.1 ok (it shows up as a dropdown)
. Click BUSINESSQUERY > LOAD … types in userid/password
. Returns USR0053 Cannot Load Authentication Driver

Tried it with different userids’s and different repositories (domains), same
Manual thinks this is an old Supervisor error message,
Upgraded to SP2, same thing

Any ideas?

I heard that in old or updated installations the PATH to the xll could be wrong or remained “unupdated”… perhaps does also the registry not realize the “BQ”-Installation… but you have all newly installed…

Good idea … I’ll double check the PATH

Right now, i think it’s down to our SMS install … It’s only happening on the SMS installed machines … When I go back and reinstall manually, it does work … Here’s our SMS install script if anyone’s interested:

Bingo … The problem here was that the SMS script didn’t update the PATH variable … added the following to the PATH variable and BQ loads fine now.
