Slow response entering Parameter in InfoView but not in CMC?

On Business Objects Enterprise XI (R1), why would entering a parameter for a report:

    [i]in the central management console[/i] be quick and easy while

    [i]in InfoView[/i], entering a parameter takes over a minute?

I know this isn’t very much information, but I didn’t want to cloud the problem either…
