I am trying to open a sub 1MB XLF file, but it seems to take a very long time. I’ve tried reinstalling Xcelsius but the problem persist. It seems to take longest for the “Opening Excel” portion then suddenly the program becomes unresponsive, only to complete the opening of the file a few minutes later. What seems to be the issue I’m encountering?

The reason for a slow opening XLF file are usually either many components or a lot of Excel data - or both. Here are a few suggestions:

Make sure you do not have Excel open when you open Xcelsius/SAP Dashboards
Make sure you do not have any unnecessary data or formulas in the excel model. Delete any extra tabs or unused blocks of data.
Don’t have ranges that exceed 512 rows … ideally, less than 300. Make use of the connectivity options that allow you to pass parameters from the dashboard to reduce the number of rows of data loading into the dashboard
Delete any unused components
Are you using many Container components (tab sets or Canvas containers)? These can be more memory intensive components, especially when used a lot.
Possibly could be Excel Add-ons that might slow things down for the opening.
