Sliders and Progress Bars

Does anyone know how to do this:

I have a progress bar that is a number fed from an income statement, but I do add a formula to this value in Excel (in Xcelsius).

I have a slider below this Progress Bar that defaults to the “% to Budget” that the progress bar shows. For example: The progress bar shows Gross Sales as $10,000, the slider value shows 87%, which represents that $10,000 was 87% of the Target.

I want that slider to be enables, so I can do some what if analysis - what if I had hit 95% of my target, how would that affect the downtream - all the way to my Net Income.

I am struggling to enable the interactivity when both the progress bar and slider are binding to a cell that has a formula.

Any suggestions as to how to make this work?

Thanks,
David

Hi David,
You can use a History Component (located in the “Other” folder in the component list) to achieve your interactive slider and progress bar. Point the “Data” cell of the History component to your formula cell, then bind the Insertion - Data destination - to a blank cell. Make sure the option for “When value changes” is selected. Then, bind your Slider value to this same cell (the blank destination cell). When you preview your dashboard, the Slider can now move interactively since it is not tied to a formula cell.

Hope this helps,
