Sizing -Data services (only DI) 3.2

It looks to me that 4GB RAM minimum for all 3 services below (according to supported platforms)? What about the processor, etc? Our environment is small and we load below 100k rows a day. Please advise.

Data Services Job Server
•Pentium processor (dual processor with minimum 1 GHz recommended) with a minimum of 1GB RAM (2 GB recommended) RAM and 1.6 GB free disk space
•2 GB virtual memory
•Recommended minimum pageable cache directory size: 2GB

Data Services Access Server
•Pentium processor (dual processor with minimum 1 GHz recommended) with at least 512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended)
•1 GB virtual memory (recommended 2GB)

Data Services Management Console
Pentium processor with at least 512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended) and 150MB free disk space

Are you using RealTime at all? If not, you would disable AccessServer anyhow.

100’000rows? A Laptop is enough

Hi Werner,

WoW!! Its Incredible.

However, will the Complexity of transforms affect the CPU sizing, with the same no. of rows?

Of course it does. :mrsbob:

But really, 100’000 rows, that’s nothing. Even if almost all goes wrong it will still be fast enough. And if the optimizer does something terribly stupid, I guess we should first optimize the dataflow before adding CPU power to cope with an execution plan not optimal.

Checkout the link I have in my signature below to see what kind of throughput customers get. Granted, not the most difficult dataflow but…
