Simba BigQuery ODBC error "Unable to authenticate with Google BigQuery Storage API"

Hi all. We’re on BI4.2 SP9 and we have a universe connected to GCP BigQuery. In our UAT environment we have one server on which we’ve installed the 32 bit and 64 bit ODBC drivers, set up the ODBC data source and everything is working perfectly. However, when trying to replicate this in Production, where we have 6 servers, we are getting the error “The following database error occurred: [Simba][BigQuery] (131) Unable to authenticate with Google BigQuery Storage API. Check your account permissions”

It’s the same version of the ODBC drivers as on the UAT server and the data source is set up in exactly the same way. What are we missing? Is there anything we can check? Even though the error suggests a permissions issue on the BQ side, it can’t be because we’re using the exact same service account and credentials on the UAT server.

All suggestions welcome!

EDIT: Also, I’ve just tested it in Webi Rich Client and got a slightly different error “The following database error occurred: (CS) Error on Connect”.

I know that this isn’t officially supported by SAP on this version but the fact that we’ve got it working in UAT but it doesn’t work in Production is just baffling, not to mention a major problem when the non GCP version of this data gets switched off on Monday so I really need a fix before then.

Have you check if the production server is able to communicate with GCP (network and firewalls)
