Show Values buttons dissapeared after password change

All,

Yesterday we changed passwords for our database environment. This resulted in changing the passwords in Supervisor for accesing the repository and several connections to the databases. So far so good.
Then i got a message from an Infoview user who couldn’t see the ‘show values’ buttons in his reports anymore. He was not the only one.

As a supervisor i can see the show values buttons, but other users can’t see them anymore. We have several subfolders which contain different groups of users.

Does anybody have an idee what could be wrong?

Thanx.

Greetings, Philip

Just a workaround:

Can you try one by one and check…
a) Click Regenerate button in supervisor…

b) Check Integrity on Universe… and export it again to repository.

c) Refresh LOV’s…

d) Import the universe on to the machine, where ever necessary…

I think this should do…

Couldn’t find the reason that caused the problem. Perhaps somebody changed a setting in the command restrictions, but am not sure of that.

What we did to get around the problem was the following:

  • We created a new group with new priveleges and restrictions.
  • Added all the users from the old group to the new group (ghostmouse works excellent for this, as we had to add 300 users).
  • Deleted the old group.

Problem fixed.

Thanx for all the help!

Philip
