All proceeds from Shop@BOB from July 1 through the end of this year will be donated to the Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. Shop@BOB was originally started as a way to help support BOB. Our sponsor program has been successful enough that we don’t really need to keep running Shop@BOB, but it has remained available as a convenience to BOB members. It’s nice to have a source for BusinessObjects / Crystal reference materials.
But since the sponsor program is covering our hosting costs, we have decided to donate all proceeds from Shop@BOB from July 1 through the end of this year to the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund managed by the Red Cross. Our Amazon.com referral fees so far this quarter stand at $36.12. While this may not be very much in the grand scheme of things, we’re going by the adage that “every little bit helps.” All Amazon earnings - no matter how large or small - from July 1 through December 31 will be donated to the Red Cross hurricane relief fund. Our results are in… for the six months from June, 2005 through December, 2005 we raised $93.79 in Amazon commissions from Shop@BOB. We have sent a donation in the amount of $100.00 to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief fund. Thank you to everyone that purchased something from the shop.
