Set-up BIWS data-connection with windows AD authentication

I’m trying to set-up a data-connection for a SAP Dashboard with help of BIWS in a windows AD authentication system.

The dashboard is running and refreshing but it’s giving me empty report-blocks (no values)

No error’s or what so ever, just sending me empty cells.

What I’ve done:

  • created a BIWS from webi, with authentication set to Windows AD
  • tested this BIWS from the manage BI services module in webi -->OK
  • Created a new BIWS connection in SAP Dashboards DataManager
  • Imported the WDSL URL and choose the appropriate block
  • Usage: Refresh Before components are loaded is checked
  • Input Values: Refresh --> 1
    (login and password Input values are set to EMPTY–> because windows ad auth)

What am I doing wrong?

Sorry… sounds dumb to ask but didn’t see you mention it. In the data connection did you map the cells of the expected return data size to the internal spreadsheet?

Also after adding the WSDL it populated the Web Service URL. Grab that URL and run it into a web browser and try to get a return of the data to make sure that piece is working correctly.

Is the dashboard always launched while you are authenticated within the domain? Do you launch it externally?

yes data from the BIWS is mapped to an xcelsius components.

If I put the BIWS URL in a browser, it returns some sort of XML statement

SWF is hosted on BILaunchpad, so I’ve got an active and valid session.

Further if I change one letter in het URL I get an error message, so it’s working all right, it’s getting connection, but it returns empty blocks.
