Hello,
Our Oracle VM server suddenly shutdown on Saturday. We could not figure out what caused the shutdown. However, we were able to bring our Oracle DB instance without any issue. We’ve multiple instances running on this VM; one runs Oracle DB and the other one was/is running BI 4.2, separate host/ip for each one.
Unfortunately, we were not able to start BI 4.2 services. All the services start except CMS (SQL Anywhere, default installation). If we manually start the SQL Anywhere service it starts just fine. we can even open up BI 4 ODBC connection “BI4_CMS_DSN” use CMS user name and password and it shows “Connection Successful”. But when we start SIA, then SQL Anywhere service stops and never comes back up. After checking the log file, this is what we found:
"
33007 Database access error. Reason [Sybase][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]Run time SQL error – Fatal error: Internal error…
35101 The root server reported an error Initialization Failure. (Reason: Database access error. Reason [Sybase][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]Run time SQL error – Fatal error: Internal error…Database access error. Reason [Sybase][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]Run time SQL error – Fatal error: Internal error… Error reading Info Object. ).
"
We don’t know how to further troubleshoot this issue. We have created SAP ticket about 3 days ago but no response yet.
We’ve development universes sitting in our PC, but can’t open it due to CMS being down.
Below is our VM server environment:
OS: Windows 2012
BI: BI 4.2 SP2 (default installation setting)
App: Tomcat (default installation setting)
Any help or suggestion will be appreciated.
